1) Power - 03112023
Date: Fri 03112023
Location: France - 45 (PerfectPower test track)
Car configuration: Optimization of the mapping by David and Vincent (PerfectPower group)
Software: PerfectPower Androïd 6.1.5 (new version)
Hardware: Xiaomi MI 8 + RaceBox Mini 25 Hz driven by PerfectPower / Samsung Galaxy A10 + RaceBox Mini 25 Hz driven by PerfectPower
Report: Two measurements performed for the validation of the results of each map tested:
- With 3 people on board (Olivier & Vincent & David) and with three quarters of the tank (47 L)
- In 3rd gear from 2500 to 8600 rpm (rev limiter)
- With the use of the WIXGEAR universal magnetic windshield mount according to the strict recommendation of PerfectPower for the most accurate measurements possible
- In both directions of the road then averaging of these two measurements according to the strict recommendation of PerfectPower in order to eliminate the effects of road slope and wind
Note 1: This is a complete development (VANOS intake + exhaust, injection, ignition) with E85 which has been performed on this BMW M3 E92 which was the first that Vincent and I did, with at the end exceptional results!
Note 2: We used two phones (my Xiaomi MI 8 and Olivier's Samsung Galaxy A10) each driving their own RaceBox Mini, and we carried out all the measurements simultaneously with the two phones and validated the results of each tested map with the Xiaomi MI 8 of exceptional accelerometer quality (results always perfectly stable).
Note 3: The E85 used for this session was E80 verified in reality!
A) Final Map V17
Official Result = Average of the two measurements with the Xiaomi MI 8
450.1 ch = 443.9 hp & 408.2 Nm = 301.1 lb.ft
Note: We had a target of 450 metric hp (444 imperial hp)... AND we barely reached them! FYI, such a value is exceptional for this engine!

B) Comparison Original Map (424 ch) / Optimized Map (440 ch) with UL 98
Unofficial results of each map with the Samsung Galaxy A10
Note: This comparison presents results of measurements carried out with UL 98 and long before this current adjustment session on Friday November 3, 2023 with E85! It was Olivier himself who carried out these measurements AND this development with UL 98 over several days after I explained to him exactly how to do it and he followed my instructions to the letter and the result was that he accomplished exceptional work and much better than that of many installed professionals!
Of course, we redid a complete development Vincent and I for the optimization of the mapping with E85 and we carried out specific tasks that Olivier was not able to carry out alone such as the ethanol conversion itself (taking into account the new injectors, adjustment of cold start injection, etc.) and the addition of a switch-map function to switch from the E85 map to the UL 98 map and vice versa, and of course we are happy to have succeeded in reaching our (difficult!) objective of 450 metric hp!
C) Comparison Optimized Map with UL 98 (440 ch) / with E85 (unofficial 453 ch)
Unofficial results of each map with the Samsung Galaxy A10
Note: As explained before, we noted in our measurements in parallel with the two phones a perfect stability of the results and the accuracy of the curves at all points with the Xiaomi MI 8, when it happened that measurements had abnormal variations (especially at high revs) with the Samsung Galaxy A10, and the only reason for this is the difference in accelerometer quality between the two phones since the GPS information came in both cases from a RaceBox Mini, and this is why we can ONLY make official the results obtained with the Xiaomi MI 8, i.e. 450 metric hp with the optimized map with E85 (final map V17), and not the 453 metric hp measured with the Samsung Galaxy A10.
2) Power - 28012024
Date: Sun 28012024
Location: France - 45 (PerfectPower test track)
Car configuration: Same map optimized for E85 (final map V17)
Software: PerfectPower Androïd 6.1.7 (new version)
Hardware: Samsung Galaxy S23 (new Olivier's phone) + RaceBox Mini 25 Hz driven by PerfectPower
Report: Two measurements performed:
- With 1 people on board (Olivier) and with full tank (63 L)
- In 3rd gear from 2500 to 8600 rpm (rev limiter)
- With the use of an excellent windshield mount according to the strict recommendation of PerfectPower for the most accurate measurements possible
- In both directions of the road then averaging of these two measurements according to the strict recommendation of PerfectPower in order to eliminate the effects of road slope and wind
Note 1: The aim of the game of this session was simply to confirm several months later and with winter ethanol (E70 verified) the 450 ch (444 hp) recorded on November 3, 2023 with the final map V17!
Note 2: Olivier was able to release his new phone with these measurements, a Samsung Galaxy S23, with much better accelerometer quality than that of his old Samsung Galaxy A10! By the way, the results obtained are extremely close to those obtained with my Xiaomi MI 8 on November 3, 2023, with only 0.9 ch & hp difference (451 vs 450.1), when we had 2.6 with his old Samsung Galaxy A10 (452.7 vs 450.1)!
Note 3: The E85 used for this session was E70 verified in reality!
Official Result = Average of the two measurements
451.0 ch = 444.8 hp & 412.8 Nm = 304.5 lb.ft
Note: As said, the 450 ch (444 hp) are well confirmed with this final map V17 (and not the V18 of the screen, it is an Olivier's mistake), and this both with summer ethanol (E80 from November 3, 2023) and with winter ethanol (E70 from January 28, 2024)!
